The conversation around AI tends to center around what machines can do. They write, analyze, generate images, answer questions. The list grows longer every month.
What interests me more is what remains distinctly human.
A machine can generate hundreds of options in seconds, but it doesn't know who it's for. It doesn't notice the detail that deserves more attention, or the hesitation in someone's voice when they say, "I'm not sure that's quite right."
Much of the work I care about lies in recognizing something when it feels true.
Technology will continue to change. What remains to be seen is how we use the time and freedom it creates.
What will we choose to do with the parts that remain ours? ✦
